Man. Talk about an adventure! I had THE MOST FUN this past weekend (thanks in part to the company I kept).
I put up a personal ad on Craigslist Boston – looking for someone to hang out with out there – take to see the Boss, and then have them take me to a Sux game. Seriously – I did not know this was such a popular thing – a girl who wants to go to a baseball game?!? I got (literally) 50 responses. 50. I wrote back about 12-15 of them, weeded a few out that way – and made plans with a couple guys and a friend of one of my friends here in Philly.
On a side note….I did not get one penis picture. Oh Craigslist – why do you fail me so?
So, Friday night I pick up my convertable Chrysler SeaBring. If they had these in a stick shift, I would be ON IT to buy one. That car has my name written all over it! It was dead fucking sexy. Early the next AM I headed out on the trip.
Getting to Boston was uneventful. Well. Forget said that. I made it to New York, stopped at a rest stop, and got hit by someone. THEN I get to Connecticut, stopped for breakfast, and realized that I lost my credit card. You know, the one I planned on putting the weekend on? No worries.
I get to Boston (one state down, 4 to go) – people say it's hard to park there, but I found a metered spot a mere block from where I was supposed to meet friend of a friend. He's late. Funny, I came 4 states away and I'm on time. I call the boy I'm supposed to go to the Boss concert with and he comes out for lunch.
Lunch is fabulous. Boy is Fabulous. I will ditch other two boys I had potential plans with to spend the rest of the weekend with this fabulous boy.
The Boss was amazing. I ended up getting us upgraded tickets once we got there from some random person. That was cool. The concert was amazing. The company was fun. It was just soooooo worth the adventure.
The next morning, we got up and went to Providence, RI for Breakfast (2 states down, 3 to go!). Found a cute place to eat, wandered the town. The company was still fabulous. Even made it to Nine West for the shoe sale!
After that we went to the Red Sox/Tampa Bay game at Fenway Park. WAY fun! I wore a shirt that says "There never was a curse, they just sucked for 86 years" – that was fun. As soon as we got there (late cause of the shoe sale) – this couple was leaving cause their kid couldn't handle the noise – and GAVE US UPGRADED TICKETS. I'm on a roll. Seriously. Went out for a fabulous dinner afterwards. Company was still amazing.
Woke up Monday morning, drove up to New Hampsire (3 down) – they have the most wonderful liquor stores there!), and then on up to Maine (4 down)…ended up having breakfast at this cute little cow-themed joint.
I went home after that. Drove all the way back, little bit of rain, missing the amazing boy already. I didn't make it to vermont, which is now the last state in the lower 48 I have not been to. I think I will use it as an excuse to go back to Boston.
By the way – this boy must feel the same about me, since he's coming down this weekend to stay at the shore with me!
